A day begins with the rising of the sun. The feelings of each person at this point are very much different and hold a great contrast.
While the morning dew is still on the grass, we contemplate what we hope to accomplish during the day.
Will the direction of the day, our life, be directed by others OR will our day, our life, be directed by the will of what God has planned for us?
As the day goes by, as the sun creeps across the sky, there may be many changes in plans, changes in direction.
We may be like homing pigeons. When released, they will circle in the sky until they determine which way to go to reach their destination.
We may be like a quarter horse. When released, they take off very fast in a straight line toward the finish line.
How will we define success when we come to the end of our day? Being successful is not quantified by how others measure success.
Success in life is defined by things that bring us and others around us happiness, peace and fulfillment.
Things that are fun are not always things that lead to happiness, peace and fulfillment. Consider this, and how things we do, affect not only us, but family, friends, community, church and our relationship to God.
Our career choice, the work we do that provides for our needs, should be driven by that measure as well.
There are job choices that, by some, may be thought of as glamorous and other jobs that may be perceived. by some, as menial. If we are working a job that brings us happiness, peace and fulfillment, then we are successful beyond any human measure.
As the sun is going down, the time for completing the things we need to accomplish is running out. Before darkness, to bring us fulfillment, what do we do in those final hours? We don’t know our appointed final day, so we need to consider this every day.
For those whose work is not complete, the night is restless.
